Book 25 covers the first 8 learning intentions for children aged about 12 to 13 years old and in Year 8. It is the first book of a set of three. (Book 26 and Book 27 are estimated to be released in early 2023).
Book 25 follows Book 23 in the Number curriculum. Book 24 (4th Year 7 book) will be released in 2023 and will contain Strand Maths - probabliity, measurement and geometry. Book 28 will be the equivalent for Year 8.
At this level, learners are preparing for advanced mathematical concepts, like algebra, and are expected to use basic operations, such as addition, subtraction and multiplication, with relative ease. They are learning to manipulate recent additions to their knowledge banks, such as integers, exponents and decimal numbers, and extend these skills to more difficult and multi-step processes, such as ‘prime factorisation’ and double-digit multiplication and division.
